However, the combination of time and use can take a toll on your veneers, leading to their replacement. Whether you received your veneers from the Advanced Dental Care team or not, our team will be happy to restore your veneers back to perfection. read on about what you can expect from the replacement process!
Why Your Veneers Might Need Replacement
Although porcelain veneers are very robust, time and use combined will ultimately lead to replacement. However, certain types of damage will shorten this timeline. Some of these types of damage include:
- Chips and cracks
- Gradual wear and tear
- Tooth decay
- Staining
- Dissatisfaction with prior veneers
The Process of Replacement
The replacement process is very similar to the initial treatment process. The primary difference is that no enamel needs to be removed for replacement, since an adequate amount has already been removed for the original veneers. Instead, your dentist will remove the initial veneer as if it were a layer of tooth tissue, before taking a new impression.
Using our advanced on-site equipment, the impressions will be scanned and a digital model of the new veneer will be created. Over the next hour, the veneer will be crafted from porcelain to the computer’s specifications. Once ready, we will test the fit and will be permanently cemented on.
Upon leaving our office, you will be able to eat, smile and talk normally once again!
